5 Things That Made Me Swoon This Week

Y’all, I’ve never been sooooo excited over a piece of clothing in my life.  Ok, maybe the time I bought a hot pink froo froo Betsey Johnson dress for my bridal shower.  And my first pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.  But a new skirt arrived in the mail to top that.  I officially feel like I can let out my inner-5-year-old who loved to play dress up, in this adult size version tutu skirt, as I call it.  You must must must go check out this fashion diva’s Etsy store and buy one too.  I obviously loved it so much that I wore it in my bio pic here.  And it kind of made my day when the boutique I got my bling necklace from reposted my Instagram pic on their Instagram.  You can get the fab necklace here.

So I’m walking in Dillard’s looking at comforters for a virtual home style client to make sure the quality is as good as it looks online, and I pass by this gorgeousness from Kate Spade.  I mean, obviously she has great taste because my outfit above matches her dinnerware.  Now I just need an excuse to throw a fabulous dinner party.  Girls night in, anyone?  Leave me a comment and let me know if you want an invite when/if that happens!

So pretty much all my favorite colors exist in this room below, but more so, what made me swoon was this black and white square carpet.  As I was browsing through a new decorating book, at first glance, I thought it was cool tile.  Then I realized it was carpet, with a big outloud “Shut.  Up.” in the middle of the Barnes and Noble aisle.  Immediately I wanted to know where to get it from, and someone on my Instagram (high five @perfectlytay) so graciously pointed me in the direction of a cool website called Flor.  As in, they’re so cool they don’t need the extra O.  We currently have mostly hardwoods, but I’m totally doing this in my next house.

Ok, so as a creative girl with entrepreneur blood, I love being inspired by other creative entrepreneur girl’s stories of success.  Especially those who built an empire from nothing.  Or in this case, a few vintage dresses she sold on eBay, which turned to a $100 million+ fashion empire.  With her blunt “tell it like it is” attitude, this #girlboss is killing it, and she shares her inspiring story in the latest book I’m reading and swooning over.  As I set out on this new dream of building a very chic and pretty empire, it’s the perfect book to help me feel like I can conquer the world.  And um, I mean, I had to buy a few decorating books to go along with it.  A little bit of creative, a little bit of business.  Always trying to find that balance as an entrepreneur.

I am not, I repeat, not decorating my own child’s nursery… yet… but I am helping to style my girlfriend’s for her precious little girl.  And in the midst of it, my heart skipped a beat when I discovered Pottery Barn has these amazing gorgeous absolutely my style tufted cribs!  Almost every sofa and headboard in my own home is tufted, so when I saw this was available… well… I had to hold myself back from letting my future nursery decorating daydreams go crazy in my head.  Still faithfully waiting for that dream to come true.  All in God’s perfect timing.  Can y’all only imagine what my child’s nursery will look like one day?

You know to count me in for a girls night in on fun dishes. Bonus: I will get an excuse to make a weekend of it 🙂
