This past weekend, Stephen and I walked around a really fun fall festival on a farm, and into their pumpkin barn looking at their selection.
“I really want a white pumpkin,” I said.
“White?” he questioned. “Why?”
“So I can paint gold polka dots on it… of course,” I answered so matter of factly. Stephen knows at this point in our marriage to not question me further when I throw out a creative idea like that. He knows at this point, it’s a “girl thing.”
I’ve been seeing a lot of Halloween decor popping up, and my own personal challenge is always, how do I decorate for Halloween and Fall without the ghosts and goblins? One thing I don’t do is scary. I’m just not into the whole fright and fear side of Halloween (I’m such a chicken in haunted houses), but I do love a good pumpkin carving and roasting pumpkin seeds. This year though, instead of carving, I’m determined to PAINT my first pumpkin! I’ve been seeing so many cute ideas floating around, and I want to dare you to also try painting a pumpkin for a “dare-it-yourself” project instead of carve one for this year’s Halloween home decor. Here’s some really adorable and sparkly ideas I’ve gathered, and you can see more on my Pinterest!
Have you ever painted a pumpkin before? If you have, I’d love for you to share some tips in the comments below of what was successful for you in the process!
