Polka Dot Walls

In our last house, I had an awesome gold and silver foil polka dot wallpaper in our guest bathroom, and I’m determined to bring polka dots back.  I’ve been debating whether to create a polka dot wall in our guestroom next. Our guestroom has been through a few makeovers over the years, from damask tempaper to plain white walls.  But one thing I miss from our Nashville house is our gold foil polka dot wallpaper that was in our guestbath downstairs.  As I slowly get settled back in Jacksonville, I knew for our guestroom, I wanted the look of gold polka dot wallpaper without the hassle of putting up wallpaper, and I didn’t have the patience to physically draw and paint circles.  So I sought out these gold stick-on vinyl decals.  I’m planning to put them over a silver grey color like in this first pic below to match the metallics and mirrored furniture pieces in our guestroom.  That project is yet to come, but in the meantime, I wanted to leave you with some other inspirational polka dot rooms to enjoy!  What do you think of polka dot walls?  Too busy?  Too perfect?  Would you dare it yourself?

This past spring, I added metallic gold polka dots to our bedroom accent wall. Perfect since we’re renting (the perils of living in NYC) and after (illegally) painting my living room and stenciling pink damask in my daughter’s room, these vinyl stickies were the best option. I just found your site today at work and I am stoked. I, too, am a lover of gold and pink-an option that I really can’t indulge in so much now that Im newly married 🙁 I’ll just live vicariously through you 🙂

Glad to know vinyl sticks on were a better option than damask stencils! Yeah, stencils seem too complicated for me. I’d rather be able to peel it off if I make a mistake. Just checked out your blog and love it Sandee!

LOVE! My favorite is the matte/satin wall color with the metallic dots. Very chic!
